  • Nora’s style of teaching is extremely nice – I’d describe it as both instructive and entertaining. Grammar and vocabulary are highlighted, and so are reading and speaking. Written home tasks are meant to systematize what has been learnt during each class and to improve students’ writing skills.

About the teacher

I started my career as a high school history teacher in Rovaniemi, and have been teaching Finnish as a foreign language since 1990.

My passion for the Finnish language dates back to my first Master’s degree at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, where I studied history with Finnish as a minor. After moving to Finland, my enthusiasm for linguistics led me to a second Master’s degree, this time in Finnish language and literature, at the University of Tampere.

I have taught Finnish at the University of Lapland, Sedu, TAKK, Ahjola, and the University of Tampere. In 2020, I decided to broaden my horizons to entrepreneurship by branching out to private lessons online. I am now excited to connect with fellow language enthusiasts all over the world and help You master the beautiful Finnish language!
